There are some work experience opportunities made available through Nacro. It is the Nacro in collaboration with the Council who co-ordinate Work Pairing which is where young people (who are currently not engaged in education, employment or training) can sign up to a course that allows them to gain 3 months of relevant work experience, employability skills and an allowance of £40 per week. Learning to Work helps to organise work experience, especially for school students and young people aged 15-25 yrs.
Prospects: A UK wide website with a database that has listings for opportunities of where to get work experience.
Reading University: Reading Uni offers opportunities for work experience for school students in year 10 and 11.
Bracknell & Wokingham College’s full-time courses offer students the chance of Work Experience, giving them a real taste of the industry in which they are choosing to start their career.
